Highland Vista Swim Team
A NOTE FROM COACH ED
Wahoo swimmers and parents,
Wow time is seemingly flying by! It's hard to believe that the Summer is just around the corner and we're already gearing up for another fun season at HV. I've been lucky enough to bump into or hang out with many of you over this past school year at Uof A tailgate parties, football games, shopping centers, or just around town.
This year I got back to High School coaching after being out of it since the late '90's. I was hired as the Varsity Womens Coach with the Rincon/UHS swim team and really enjoyed it. As a Rincon coach I was able to continue to work with many of our senior Wahoo's as well as compete against HV swimmers that represent Salpointe, Tucson High and other schools. We can all be very proud of the high level of sportsmanship and athleticism that our Wahoos exhibit while representing HV and their respective high school teams.
This year promises to be another fun and exciting year. We're looking forward to remaining in a little bit longer Summer with our Championships not taking place until later in July, but that just means more time for training and fun. I look forward to seeing all of you in April! Coach Ed... Go Wahoos!!!
Theater Night
We hope everyone remembers how much fun we had at last year’s Highland Vista Gaslight Theater night! Not only was it a great time, but we raised a bit of money for the team.
This year our big night is Sunday July 12th at 7:00 pm. Tickets will be available at the registrations..
Volunteers?
We always need volunteers for our fundraisers
and swim meets. You’ve probably heard it before, because it’s true: This super organization can’t function without your help. Grab a friend and join the Board and the dozens of other helpful souls who make this awesome team what it is.
Volunteer sign-up forms will be out at registration.
Please consider at least two commitments, as it
takes a lot of people to make a meet happen!
Questions, Suggestions
Please feel free to call or e-mail any of the swim team board members if you have suggestions, questions, or concerns regarding swim team. We look forward to seeing you all at the pool! Ed Murphy.
