Potential Renaming of the Park
There have been a lot of questions lately regarding why the park is called the 20/30 Park and not the Highland Vista Park. We can change the name of the park and are presently gathering signatures to do just that. Once signatures are obtained, the request does then have to go in front of the City Council but let's take the first step. If you would like to sign the petition or would like to gather signatures on your block, please contact a board member. We need as many signatures as we can get and help is always taken when offered.

MAIL THEFT:
There have been some instances of mail theft recently in the neighborhood. The Post Office suggests you take your mail to the post office so it does not sit in your mailbox. You can also purchase a locked mailbox. The Post Office can help you with that as well as answer questions on what you can do to safeguard your mail.

PARK DEDICATION

Over 65 people came to the dedication of the new park project held Aug 23. Attended by Chairman Richard Elías and Ward 6 Council Member Nina Trasoff, the ceremony marks the end of the first stage of improvements to the neighborhood park.

The HV park project is the first of its kind in Tucson. It consists of a desert landscape that incorporates a water harvesting system to trap the runoff from Craycroft. This water runs through the neighborhood and into the park collection basins where it's used to irrigate the south end of the park....

Pool Etiquette
The pool is for everyone to enjoy and the pool rules are there for a reason and need to be followed. Adult swim needs to be respected so that the adults who would like to swim without children in the water can do so, whether a lifeguard is present or not. As well, there is no glass permitted at the pool. Please respect the rules of the pool and, more importantly, your friends and neighbors who use the pool. Thanks.

The police department has cautioned us all against opening our doors to anyone we do not know due to an increase in burglaries in the center or town. They are encouraging us, as always, to call 911 if you see anything or anyone suspicious in the neighborhood.
I receive a lot of calls each day and I am thrilled to talk to everyone and communicate information but I need to ask that you do listen to the police and call 911.
I cannot help you in these situations and the police want you to call 911. Even if the police cannot respond immediately, they can track calls and events. This sometimes enables them to piece events together and perhaps help them in other crimes. If you have any specific concerns you would like addressed by the police department you can contact either Becky Noel @ Rebecca.Noel@tucsonaz.gov or our community resource officer, Tamra Thomas @ Tamra.Thomas@tucsonaz.gov
