CRIME WATCH
The Tucson Police Department is telling us that burglaries are up not only in our neighborhood but all over mid town. They seem to be occurring in the middle of the day during the week.

Please pay close attention to not only your house but those of your neighbors. They would like to remind us to call 911 for any behavior you consider suspicious.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
My family and I moved into the Highland Vista neighborhood in 1999. It took us a little while to fully realize how great of a neighborhood we had found.

Quickly we discovered how convenient it is to be able to walk to restaurants, the book store, Target, or bicycle to the movies, the gym and other areas around Broadway or Speedway. It took a little longer (having kids) to learn how lucky we are to have the pool and the park, which serve as the figurative and literal heart of our neighborhood. Finally, as I started attending our neighborhood association meetings and I realized that our best asset is our neighbors.

Your neighborhood association board is a group of very dedicated volunteers who do a variety of important tasks like managing the pool, scheduling lifeguards and parties, dealing with plumbers and landscapers, fundraising for improvements, keeping the books, communicating with City government and relaying that information to you.

Your neighbors give a lot of time and energy to make our neighborhood better. If you would like to take part in improving the neighborhood, there is no shortage of great things to accomplish and wonderful people to meet. Bring your energy and your ideas to the annual Board meeting on December 4 at 1:00 PM at the pool. We look forward to seeing you there! Thank you, Eric Shepp

MAIL THEFT:
There have been some instances of mail theft recently in the neighborhood. The Post Office suggests you take your mail to the post office so it does not sit in your mailbox. You can also purchase a locked mailbox. The Post Office can help you with that as well as answer questions on what you can do to safeguard your mail.
